Truth or Dare: 100 questions and dares for kids, teens and families
Truth or dare is a classic, but a lot of versions are about making someone feel embarrassed. Here are 50 truths and 50 dares that kids, teens and parents can play together. The dares are safe and cost nothing, and none of the questions make you reveal anything you don't want to share.
Play the 100 cardsThe games
Classic truth or dare
3-12 players, 15-30 min, Ages 6+
- The first player chooses truth or dare.
- Pick truth and you answer a question honestly. Pick dare and you do the task.
- The phone draws the cards, so nobody has to make something up on the spot.
- Once you've answered or done the dare, the turn passes to the left.
Tip: Everyone gets three passes during the game. Nobody has to explain a pass.
Truth, dare or guess
3-12 players, 20 min, Ages 8+
- Besides truth and dare, you can choose guess.
- The table asks you a question that can be answered with a number from 0 to 100, like "How much do you like broccoli, from 0 to 100?"
- You write your answer down secretly. Then everyone else says their guess out loud.
- Reveal your number. Whoever guessed closest takes the next turn.
Tip: Guess questions work best when the answer could go either way, so the guessing is half the fun.
Spin the spoon
4-12 players, 15 min, Ages 6+
- Put a spoon in the middle of the table and spin it.
- Whoever the spoon points at chooses truth or dare.
- That person spins the spoon next.
Team against team
6-20 players, 20 min, Ages 8+
- Split into two teams.
- The teams take turns drawing a card for the other team.
- If the team does the dare or answers the question, they get a point.
- The team decides who answers the truth or does the dare.
The family version
3-10 players, 20 min, Ages 5+
- Parents and kids take turns choosing.
- The grown-ups always take a dare if a kid asks them to.
- Read the cards out loud for the little ones, and help them with the dares.
Tip: Kids love watching their parents waddle like a penguin. Let them be in charge for a bit.
Dares only
3-15 players, 15 min, Ages 6+
- Shuffle only the dare cards.
- Take turns drawing, and do the dare right away.
- The table claps after every dare, however it went.
Tip: For a group of grown-ups, try the fun challenges for adults.

Questions and answers
How do you play truth or dare?
The player whose turn it is chooses truth or dare. With truth, you answer a question honestly. With dare, you do a small task. Then the turn moves on.
What are good dares for kids?
Dares that are fun to watch and safe to do: waddle like a penguin, talk like a robot, act out a movie. Skip dares that involve eating something, climbing up high or anything that costs money.
What is truth, dare or guess?
A version with a third choice. Pick guess, and the table asks you a question you answer with a number from 0 to 100. You write your number down secretly, everyone else guesses, and whoever comes closest takes the next turn.
How do you keep it from getting uncomfortable?
Give everyone three passes, and stay away from questions about bodies, crushes or people who aren't there. The cards here are written to keep it fun.
